The staff are exemplar, the parents are committed and caring, the board members are dedicated visionaries, and the Bermudian educational, health, volunteer, non-profit and donor communities are superb. As a result, our children are making unprecedented progress and are growing by leaps and bounds. We couldn’t do the great work we do without the assistance of our community. Mona Crabtree (Wierzbicki) B.A. - Senior Verbal Behavior Therapist
After graduating Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Psychology and Art from the University of Rhode Island, Mona Crabtree started her career as a preschool teacher.  There she attended a workshop on preventing and managing difficult behaviors and became interested in working specifically with challenged learners. She has since worked throughout New York, Massachusetts, and her hometown of Rhode Island providing professional and private services to children on the Autism Spectrum between the ages of two to twenty one utilizing the principles of VB and ABA.  She has collaborated with educators, parents, OT and SLP professionals in both home based and centre based programs.

Mona has been with Tomorrow’s Voices since they opened their doors in October of 2007, and has been in the field of developmental disabilities for seven years.  She is currently taking graduate level courses to obtain her board certification as an assistant behavior analyst.  Mona has spoken at numerous schools across the island and facilitates the parent support group that meets monthly at the centre.

“My success as a therapist has come from applying the principles of ABA and VB.  Getting a child to demonstrate what they know, especially a child with communication deficits can be very difficult, but through an understanding of behavior and learning it is possible.  With some learners it happens very quickly, while others may take more time.  It can be discouraging when a child doesn’t progress as quickly as you or the family anticipates, but with dedication, perseverance, patience, and a knowledgeable team any child can and will learn.  There is no greater reward when even a small step is achieved, and this is what we strive for, working hard today and every day…for tomorrow’s voices.”

I see the improvements daily, and I often find myself becoming more excited then the child! Tomorrow's Voices has taught me to look outside the box, take a normal activity or toy and make it abnormal; it's usually more fun! It has also taught me patients, understanding and to just have fun. Thanks to TV, I've truly found my passion."
