“Natural Environment Teaching - Play, Daily Living & Leisure Skills" -  We Can't Have All Work and No Play!

When motivation is present, research has indicated, that individuals are more likely to acquire or be interested in learning new skills.” Some individuals may have a small bank of motivating items/activities to pull from. This workshop will go in to detail about how to establish items/actions as reinforcing leisurely activities, how to teach individuals how to appropriately play, and how to teach new skills through the use of play to individuals within a naturally occurring setting. This workshop will also discuss daily living skills as these are activities that would happen in the natural environment setting for older learners, as opposed to play.

During this workshop you will learn about Natural Environment Teaching and how to implement some of these strategies in your everyday encounters.
